Internship Description: The First Church (U.C.C.) in Oberlin, Ohio is accepting applications for an intern to arrange and describe the archives of the church. This is a part-time position,10-15 hours per week, and the wage is $15.00 per hour. Except for social security and worker’s compensation, this position does not come with fringe benefits of medical insurance, pension, or sick/vacation time. The duration of the position will be up to 15 weeks.
Required qualifications: Holding a master’s degree in archives or library and information science, working toward such a degree, or with substantial experience in the field.
Additional Information: The intern will be supervised by First Church staff. The Collections Manager of the Oberlin Heritage Center and the Oberlin College Archivist will serve as advisors.
The First Church archives include paper files, architectural drawings, artifacts, photographs, scrapbooks, books, digital files, CDs/DVDs, and electronic records. Create a manual for the ongoing maintenance of the First Church archives. Work with the First Church staff and the Oberlin Heritage Center to promote a collaborative effort to assist other Oberlin faith communities with the management of their archival collections.

Fellowship Description: HBCU Radio Preservation Project Archival Fellow. See full details about the project on the project website.
This is a one-year, full-time, grant-funded fellowship. Compensation is $45,000 annually and
offers health and wellness benefits. This may be a remote position. Position commences
January 1 and runs through December 31.
Responsibilities:
The fellow will gain hands-on experience with collection assessment, inventorying,
reformatting, oral history processes, and other preservation activities.
Qualifications/Requirements
● Candidates must have the ability to travel as needed during the full duration of the
fellowship.
● Must be a recent graduate of a related Masters-level graduate program
● HBCU graduates will receive special consideration
● Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States
● Strong writing and communication skills

Internship Description: The Ohio Genealogical Society has a paid internship for this winter thanks to a local grant from the Fran and Warren Rupp Advised Fund. We are looking to hire a Genealogy Library Intern. The main responsibilities include: scan selected items from our collection as directed for use on our website; edit scans using Adobe Acrobat (cropping, applying optical character recognition, and optimizing); process archival material for preservation (unfolding, removing staples, organizing into folders, etc.); index information found in primary resources into a spreadsheet. The applicant can be undergraduate or graduate, they must be attending school in the spring (in other words, no recent graduates). Pay is $14.00 an hour for a maximum of $2,400 with flexible work hours, 9-5. Complete job description.

Internship information: The Ohio History Connection, in partnership with a university-level academic program, offers students and recent graduates hands-on experience working with historical collections. Under the supervision and mentorship of Ohio History Connection archivists, interns help organize and catalog collections to make them available for research. Interns will gain practical skills by working with paper records, photographs, and/or audiovisual materials, and digital tools for archival description and access.
Essential Functions:
• Re-house materials into acid-free archival boxes and folders
• Arrange and create inventories of collections
• Create new finding aids using ArchivesSpace
• Improve access to legacy collections by enhancing online catalog records
Required Competencies:
• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university, with preference given to students of Library and Information Sciences, History, Public History and Museum Studies
• Familiarity with archival arrangement and description
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams
• Must be reliable, collegial, and able to work independently
Education and Experience Outcomes:
• Gain practical understanding of archival procedures and best practices
• Develop proficiency using ArchivesSpace to create and edit finding aids
• Become an integral part of the Archives Services team
• Learn about the work of other areas within the Division of Cultural Resources and Libraries
